課程概述 |
This course is intended to provide a basic appreciation of the overall picture of the Austronesian language family for students (senior undergraduates and first-year graduates) who have some background knowledge of one or more Austronesian languages. |
|
課程目標 |
We will cover (1) an overview of the geographical, cultural and historical background to the Austronesian language family, and (2) some selected topics on Austronesian/Formosan morpho-syntax from a typological perspective, with particular emphasis on issues related to morphosyntax (reduplication/sa-/-an/nominalization/etc.), voice system, argument structure, and deixis/space concept etc. |

課程要求 |
For non-linguistics major students/first-year graduate students:
1. Class participation (20%)
2. In-class oral reports (25%~35%): need to prepare handouts for oral reports; no oral report, no grade!
3. Assignments (45%~55%): including recorded lectures |
